Let me ask you a very important question. Do you think you can get to heaven by being a good person???

Yes or No

The correct answer is No. Think about it? If you can get to heaven by being a good person why did Jesus die on the cross??? The Bible teaches that Salvation (going to heaven) is a free gift. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9)

So what must I do to go to Heaven?

1. You must realize that you cannot work your way to heaven. That Jesus did the work for you when he died on the cross for your sins, and trust in his blood to save you. (See Romans 3)

2. You must be willing to repent.

Repentance is an attitude from your heart that "says" my sinful ways are so wrong. I am so sorry that I have broken God’s commands. By God’s grace I am going to change. I am going God’s way. I choose to forsake my evil way and I choose to turn and go God’s way. Paul wrote "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent." (Acts 17:30) Jesus said "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3)

3. You must by faith accept Jesus Christ as the Lord (king, boss) of your life. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Jesus loves you. He wants to adopt you into his family. Please, give your life to him in this special prayer.

Dear Lord Jesus, I realize I am guilty. I have sinned. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I realize that I cannot work my way to heaven. I realize that you have done all the works for me by shedding your blood for my sins. Thank you, Jesus. I repent, I turn from all my wrong ways to your ways. Please come into my life, I give you the right to be the boss of my life. Thank you for saving me. Help me to do Your will each day.

In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
